Sie geh\u00f6ren in vielen L\u00e4ndern zu den h\u00e4ufigsten Ursachen f\u00fcr vorzeitige Todesf\u00e4lle, Verletzungen und bleibende Behinderungen und f\u00fchren zu erheblichen Verlusten an gesunden Lebensjahren. Besonders betroffen sind Kinder, Jugendliche, junge Erwachsene sowie \u00e4ltere Menschen. Neben der Mortalit\u00e4t verursachen Unf\u00e4lle eine hohe Morbidit\u00e4t und erhebliche soziale sowie \u00f6konomische Folgekosten f\u00fcr das Gesundheits- und Sozialsystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unf\u00e4lle sind keine zuf\u00e4lligen Ereignisse, sondern das Ergebnis eines komplexen Zusammenwirkens von individuellen, technischen, sozialen und umweltbezogenen Faktoren. H\u00e4ufige Unfallarten sind Verkehrsunf\u00e4lle, St\u00fcrze, Haushalts- und Freizeitunf\u00e4lle sowie Arbeitsunf\u00e4lle. Das Risiko variiert stark nach Alter, Geschlecht, sozialem Status und Lebensumfeld. So sind M\u00e4nner h\u00e4ufiger von t\u00f6dlichen Unf\u00e4llen betroffen, w\u00e4hrend St\u00fcrze im h\u00f6heren Lebensalter eine zentrale Ursache f\u00fcr Pflegebed\u00fcrftigkeit darstellen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wirksame Pr\u00e4ventionsma\u00dfnahmen setzen auf mehreren Ebenen an: durch sichere Gestaltung von Verkehrs- und Lebensr\u00e4umen, gesetzliche Regelungen und technische Schutzma\u00dfnahmen, Aufkl\u00e4rung und Verhaltenspr\u00e4vention sowie gezielte Ma\u00dfnahmen f\u00fcr Risikogruppen. Detaillierte Informationen zu Verkehrsunf\u00e4llen (Stra\u00dfen-, Schienen- und Luftverkehr) liefert die ebenfalls j\u00e4hrlich erscheinende <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destatis.de\/DE\/Themen\/Gesellschaft-Umwelt\/Verkehrsunfaelle\/_inhalt.html\">Verkehrsunfallstatistik<\/a> desselben Amtes. Arbeits- und Wegeunf\u00e4lle werden von den Tr\u00e4gern der gesetzlichen Unfallversicherung f\u00fcr alle versicherten Personengruppen erfasst; diese Daten werden von der <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dguv.de\/de\/zahlen-fakten\/au-wu-geschehen\/index.jsp\">Bundesanstalt f\u00fcr Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin (BAuA)<\/a> im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums f\u00fcr Arbeit und Soziales aufbereitet und im Bericht zu Sicherheit und Gesundheit bei der Arbeit ver\u00f6ffentlicht.
