Sauberes Trinkwasser und ein funktionierendes Abwassersystem sind von zentraler Bedeutung f\u00fcr die menschliche Gesundheit und stellen daher wesentliche Bestandteile einer wirksamen Gesundheitsschutzpolitik dar. Dabei spielen insbesondere die mikrobiologische Qualit\u00e4t des Wassers sowie die Verf\u00fcgbarkeit ausreichender Wassermengen f\u00fcr die pers\u00f6nliche Hygiene und die Lebensmittelhygiene (Quantit\u00e4t) eine entscheidende Rolle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In diesem Abschnitt des Lehrbuchs wird zun\u00e4chst die Bedeutung der Trinkwasserversorgung und Abwasserentsorgung f\u00fcr die weltweite Pr\u00e4vention von Infektionskrankheiten erl\u00e4utert.
